Network Pentesting

External and Internal Network Penetration Testing

We test what the internet can reach and what an attacker could do once inside: exposed services, outdated software, weak credentials, and misconfigured firewalls and VPNs.

Network Pentesting at a glance

Network penetration testing is a security test of your servers, firewalls, VPNs, and internal network in which OpsInfinity testers look for open services, weak configurations, and paths an attacker could use to move deeper.

Who it is for
Companies with office networks, data centres, VPN access, or internet-facing servers, and teams preparing for ISO 27001 or customer audits

Why choose OpsInfinity

External testing shows what an outside attacker can reach. Internal testing shows how far someone gets after phishing one laptop or plugging into the office network. Most organisations need both.

  • A clear list of everything exposed to the internet
  • Validated findings rather than raw scanner output
  • Attack paths showing how issues chain together
  • Hardening guidance for servers, firewalls, and VPNs

What we deliver

Our process

A structured approach from discovery through delivery and support.

01

Scope

We agree IP ranges, sites, exclusions, testing windows, and internal access method.

02

Discover

We enumerate hosts, open ports, services, and software versions.

03

Exploit

We safely confirm exploitable weaknesses and test how far access can spread.

04

Report and retest

We report with evidence and priorities, then retest after you fix issues.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between external and internal network testing?

External testing attacks your public IP addresses from the internet. Internal testing starts from inside your network, as a compromised laptop or malicious insider would, and shows how far an attacker could move.

Can internal testing be done remotely?

Internal testing is usually done remotely through a VPN account or a small virtual machine you run on your network. On-site testing can be arranged when remote access is not possible.

Will testing disrupt our network?

Testing is planned to avoid disruption. We agree exclusions and testing windows in advance, avoid denial-of-service tests, and stop immediately if a system behaves unexpectedly.
